7 Tips For Healthy Winter Skin

These steps will keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and soothed during the winter months!

  1. Start with gentle cleansing– Use a gentle cleanser that won’t strip away your skin’s natural barrier. Some cleansers may be too harsh during the winter months. This can contribute to dryness and irritation. We recommend our Manuka Honey Cleansing Balm, the skin care formula will help nourish and illuminate your complexion. Manuka Honey will rebalance the skin with its superior antibacterial cleansing properties and as humectant it can draw water from the air to bring more hydration directly to the skin.

  2. Exfoliate Gently- While exfoliation is important to remove dead skin cells, to avoid irritating sensitized skin use a gentle exfoliant in the winter months like a Pumpkin Enzyme peel or the Gommage Contact +; a unique product that can be used more frequently to soften the skin and is suitable for all conditions including rosacea. Gommage Contact + is formulated with plant cellulose, this product will eliminate skin’s dead cells without damaging the protective layer of the skin.

  3. Stay Hydrated– Drink plenty of water and incorporate hydrating foods into your diet to maintain your skin’s moisture from the inside out, like cucumbers, nuts and seeds, tomatoes, avocados, leafy greens and other water-rich foods. Refresh your face directly throughout the day with Laurel Hydrating Elixir facial mist, providing delicate water-soluble nutrients like B vitamins and botanical hyaluronic acid. Artisan distilled Sandalwood and Frankincense hydrosols strengthen and promote cellular healing.

  4. Moisturize More– Opt for a richer moisturizer with ingredients to lock in hydration and apply immediately after cleansing for best results. The Vitamin C Face and Body treatment is the ultimate overnight product, resulting in a soft and deeply nourished feel. It will bring comfort to irritated skin and revive elasticity. Using a luxurious thicker moisturizer before bed will allow your skin to replenish moisture while you sleep, during sleep the skin repairs damage caused all along the day.

  5. Don’t Skip Sunscreen– Even in winter, UV rays can damage your skin. Our Hydralux SPF15 Primer creates a smoother even appearance and will protect the skin against the sun. This moisturizing primer increases the skin’s hydration by nearly double, leaving the skin feeling refreshed, nourished, and youthful.
  6. Protect Your Lips- One of the most common symptoms of dry, winter skin – chapped lips! Use a lip balm with hydrating ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid to help restore dry, irritated lips. The HydroPure Hyaluronic Acid Lip Treatment is a reparative lip balm you can use to boost collagen production, visibly enhance volume and shine.
  7. Treat Yourself- Treat your skin with a soothing mask to refresh sensitive skin. Our recommendations are the soothing and replenishing Honey Rose Spice Mask and  Masque Apaisant; a creamy product that can decrease redness bringing softness and comfort to the face. Apply a thick layer of your mask of choice weekly, for 10 minutes and remove gently.  Or come enjoy our winter facial special – the Honey Rose Facial.
