Swedish/Esalen

Swedish Massage refers to a variety of techniques which relax muscles employing light to medium pressure, massaging in the same direction as the blood flow back to the heart. Esalen Massage originated at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur. Using long, flowing full-body strokes for full connection and awareness, this rhythmic massage focuses on relaxation and supports increasing oxygen flow in the blood, releasing toxins from the muscles as well as loosening tight muscles. Deep Focus

For those who prefer a firmer and stronger massage than Swedish, we suggest this modality. Tension held in deeper muscle tissue is targeted using focused deep massage strokes and integrated with an overall firm massage to address specific individual needs. Book now.

Specialty Massage

Osmosis specialty massage includes Thai and Shiatsu treatments. Chosen because their styles fit well with Osmosis' Asian theme, these modalities are completely different from Swedish/Esalen table massage. The recipient is dressed in comfortable non-restrictive clothing and the massage is performed on a mat on the floor. Lymphatic

This modality works with the body's energy, applying gentle palm and thumb pressure to specific points along energy lines, and incorporating extensive, yoga-like stretching. Shiatsu

This ancient form of Japanese massage balances the body/mind with gentle stretches and pressure on points along energy pathways. Connective Tissue

Connective Tissue massage strokes have a pace that is slower and deeper than Swedish massage. The recipient breathes into the experience, becoming aware of the changes going on in the body. Pre- and Post-Natal

No additional charge
This treatment supports and nurtures the mother-to-be and new mother. Focused massage techniques and special bolsters ensure complete relaxation and comfort even late in pregnancy. Pre- and post-natal massage helps relieve muscle cramps, reduce stress on weight-bearing joints and improves circulation which can reduce swelling.
