Local's Nights Continue in 2010

Michael Stusser and Mo McElroy

An army of workers descended on Osmosis last week to conduct the next phase of Greening Osmosis along with a major pre-holiday revamp.

In our efforts to move toward zero waste, we've eliminated use of paper cups--even recyclable ones. A new, super-quiet dishwasher will wash the attractive ceramic cups for serving water to our guests. A dual-flush toilet was placed in our most used bathroom to further reduce water use. To reduce our carbon footprint, eight thermal solar collectors were installed on the roof of Osmosis to produce the spa’s hot water needs. We estimate the system will collect enough solar energy to cover 75% of our needs, and are tracking our energy use carefully to determine just how well they actually work.

In addition to a deep cleaning of the entire spa during closure, lots of holiday cheer was added with festive lighting, decorations, and an alfresco heater for the front porch. Our unique spa boutique is brimming with all kinds of wonderful gift items. Our enzyme tubs were rebuilt for better comfort, appearance and ease of entry.

We reopened Thursday night for a sold-out Locals Night. This is becoming a very popular community gathering, and it gives us great pleasure to see so many wonderful connections being made. The grin factor is out of control every time we hold this event. Next year is our 25-year anniversary and we plan to celebrate all year with many special events including a Locals Night every month. Stay tuned to our website for our 25-year anniversary schedule available soon.

Gift certificate sales are taking off, and we're extending the pre-holiday sale through this Thursday, December 17th. A $25 voucher will be given with every Gift Certificate purchase above $150 for use in the spa boutique through February 28th.

Welcome to Osmosis

Located 1.5 hours north of San Francisco, Osmosis is a Japanese style retreat with beautiful bonsai and bamboo gardens.

Osmosis is the only day spa in the U.S. that offers the Cedar Enzyme Bath, a rejuvenating heat treatment from Japan.
