Osmosis User Guide:

A few tips to make your visit go smoothly

  • Please arrive at least fifteen minutes in advance of your appointment. This will allow time to check-in, take a comfort break, and change prior to the beginning of your service. You will be provided with lockers, robes, and towels.
  • Our prices do not include gratuities. Gratuities are optional and present an opportunity to express appreciation and acknowledge your service provider, and generally range from 15%-20% of the price of the service. Guests should feel no obligation to offer a gratuity if unhappy with a service (please let us know if this is the case).
  • Upon arrival please turn off all cellular phones and pagers. Our goal is to offer the most peaceful and relaxing environment to each and every guest. Thank you for your consideration.
  • During any service let your practitioner know if you feel any discomfort or would like special attention on a particular area. The best treatments come from honest communication. Please inform us of areas of your body which are injured, tense or sore. Also mention pregnancy or any medical conditions such as high blood pressure, a heart problem, chronic headaches, varicose veins, or recent surgery.
  • The best way to receive a massage is with the body completely unclothed. The therapist is sensitive to the need for privacy and will keep your body draped at all times with a sheet, except for the area being massaged. If this arrangement is not comfortable for you, you may wear underwear or a swimsuit.
  • To enjoy the maximum benefit of touch keep conversation to a minimum and breathe deeply as you work with the hands of your massage practitioner. Allow the therapist to move your limbs into various positions. Be limp, like a rag doll, and do not try to move yourself. Our practitioners are trained professionals who will not do anything to hurt you. However, feel free to speak up if anything the therapist does is painful, or ticklish, or uncomfortable in any way.
  • Very often, as the body releases tension during a spa treatment, the mind will release emotion. If you suddenly feel sad, angry, or joyful, do not be alarmed. Allow yourself to express these feelings by crying or laughing. At the very least, feel free to sigh with relaxation or hum with pleasure. Many people fall asleep during a treatment, an indication that the body and mind are releasing stress and tension. The practitioner will gently wake you if you need to move or it is time to end the treatment.
  • The Cedar Enzyme Bath is a heat treatment and as such is not recommended for those who are pregnant, have high blood pressure, or uncontrolled diabetes.
