Osmosis is located in the small town of Freestone, which is Sonoma County's first Historic District. Once a booming railroad stop, this now sleepy paradise is also home to the famous Wild Flour Bakery, Freestone Vineyards and several historical buildings. Our spa parking lot is very small, but there is plenty of street parking in our little village. If our lot is full, please seek safe parking on Bohemian Highway. This will also allow you to see more of Freestone and checkout some of our great neighbors.
Please note during winter weather alerts we recommend an alternate route (see Detailed Directions). Some GPS devices do not recognize the town of Freestone, in order to ensure accurate directions, please enter our address with the town of Sebastopol, CA.
Click on the below video for a guided tour of the area as well as our spa from TV's "Eye on the Bay" program. You might just get all your daytrip ideas right here!
This month's Road Trip brings you through the quaint town of Sebastopol, just 10 minutes from Osmosis!
Starting at Osmosis Day Spa, turn left out of the driveway onto the Bohemian Highway. Travel 1/4 miles to where the Bohemian Hwy meets Hwy 12 (aka Bodega Hwy). At the stop sign, turn left and follow this winding, scenic road for 6 miles, passing through apple orchards and amazing vistas until you reach downtown Sebastopol. After your morning of spa services, you might like to get a bite to eat at the East West Cafe, right along Main Street. This healthy eatery boasts a lovely menu for both breakfast and lunch and is open 7 days/week.
If you just want a light meal and a nice cup of tea, Infusions Tea House is just around the corner. They have a plethora of herbs and teas for you to enjoy along with amazing gourmet chocolates prepared onsite by Sonoma Chocolatiers. After lunch, stroll along Main Street and you will find many interesting local shops for your Holiday needs. Silk Moon boasts a lovely variety of imported clothes and accessories while Artisana focuses on local artisans crafts (jewelery, pottery, etc). Copperfields Books has quite an extensive library to choose from ranging from obscure titles to best sellers. Spend an afternoon browsing and you will be sure to check some items off your Holiday shopping list.
Feeling like a nice relaxing glass of wine after shopping? Stop in the new Hook & Ladder tasting room on the corner of Main Street and Bodega Avenue or relax in the beer garden at the HopMonk Tavern and sample the local brews. You can either stay for a pub-fare dinner and live music or head down the street to K & L Bistro for a Michelin starred feast. If you are interested in a unique dining experience, check out the Starlight Wine Bar which is housed in a fully restored vintage railway car (photo right)... oh, and the food is great too!
