Japanese Meditation Garden at Osmosis

Our beautiful meditation garden allows you to savor the heightened state of sensory awareness and inner peace that often follows an Osmosis treatment. Entering this serene, healing sanctuary can greatly enhance the positive impact and deepen your journey to tranquility and renewal. Here you may meditate, relax, and commune with nature. The garden is open to guests of Osmosis on the day of their treatments.

Ox and Oxherder

The garden is a 10-stage walk through sculpture inspired by the Chinese Zen parable of the Ox and the Ox herder.

Aromatic Chamomile

While in the garden, you can lie down and rest in one of the three aromatic chamomile lawns. As you lay on the herb, the oils are crushed forth by the weightof your body. The smell is divine and the effect is dreamlike as this unparalleled form of aromatherapy works its magic.

Garden Designer - Robert Ketchell

The Meditation garden was designed and built under the direction of Robert Ketchell, a renowned British horticulturalist who has studied landscape design extensively in Kyoto Japan. Currently chairman of the Japanese Garden Society (based inthe UK) and principle of Sansui Design, he is also an author, lecturer, film maker, and Kyoto garden tourguide. Ketchell and Osmosis founder Michael Stusser (pictured right) met in Kyoto. The two dreamed of working together to create a garden that captured the spirit of the classic gardens of that magical Japanese city.
